Scientific output in electrocardiography is one of the pillars for the evolution of evidence-based clinical practice. The ECG is a dynamic science. New evidence emerges continuously, challenging traditional concepts, dismantling historical dogmas, and correcting misinterpretations that were repeated as absolute truths for decades.

The Tele-ECG department of the Dante Pazanese Institute of Cardiology has played a relevant role in this process of conceptual refinement, generating knowledge applied to the ECG from large-scale clinical care, a structured database, and rigorous scientific methodology.

This article aims to organize, by year, all the papers published by the department, making them easier to consult and highlighting the group's scientific contribution to Brazilian cardiology.

“This content will be continuously updated as new papers are published. This page was last updated in February 2026.”

Teaching and Research Team of the Tele-ECG Department

Teaching and research activities of the Tele-ECG Department are led by Mariana Fuziy Nogueira De Marchi, head of the department; José Nunes de Alencar Neto, who coordinates the main lines of research; Sandro Pinelli Felicioni; and Matheus Kiszka Scheffer.

Other team members and residents also take part in the department's academic activities and research projects.

The Method: Tele-ECG as a Platform for Science

What sets the department apart is not only the number of tracings analyzed, but the method.

The Tele-ECG model allows:

  • Standardized reports
  • Structured data storage
  • Retrospective analysis of large cohorts
  • Assessment of clinical outcomes
  • Large-scale epidemiological studies

It is a real-world clinical practice database, directly applicable to everyday patient care. The science produced is born in the real world and returns to it as diagnostic improvement.
