The Aslanger pattern was described in 2020 as a new electrocardiographic pattern of inferior wall infarction with acute coronary occlusion (ACO), associated with multivessel coronary artery disease, that does not meet the classic criteria of ST-segment elevation in two contiguous leads.
Electrocardiographic Criteria
- ST-segment elevation in lead III, but not in the other inferior leads
- ST-segment depression in any of leads V4-V6, but not in V2
- ST segment in V1 > V2
ECG in the Aslanger Pattern

Aslanger pattern. The ECG was recorded during chest pain, and it shows subtle, isolated ST elevation in lead III. The other criteria proposed by Aslanger are also present, such as ST depression in V5 and V6, and the ST segment in V1 is higher than in V2. This pattern suggests acute coronary occlusion in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease.
